 You will be given a "tour" of the Rider-Waite Tarot Cards though an inter-active workshop on the Astrological Sun Signs.
We will learn how to read and interpret on an academic level and also on the intuitive level.
Understanding and inter-acting with the Tarot Cards offer a greater clarity to how we accept and react to different situations we encounter on a day to day basis.
The act of using the Tarot to decipher or unravel problems in our lives has existed for nearly six centuries. Many books on the subject have been written and they all have the same common thread; the base meaning for each of the cards remain constant, yet within each card there are many other illuminations which are opened.
In this class you will learn how decipher those meanings and open those illuminations. You will start using your cards immediately to get a clearer and more understandable idea of your own situations. In this process you will learn to identify the keys of the cards that unlock your intuitive self to bring you a wonderful sense of empowerment.

 In this class we will be exploring the use of acupressure points and Qi therapy to give the face increased vitality and to strengthen the muscles. Learn the ancient technique and application of forming qi balls with the hands for qi washing the face and sense organs. When we access these points and apply qi we are reenergizing the muscles, tightening them. The points also bring qi and blood to each area so the white blood cells can take away dead or damaged cells for healing and red blood cells to deliver oxygen. Oxidation is the aging process. Introduction to the Spiritual World of the Indigenous Native Americans
of Southeast Texas

For thousands of years the Native people of southeastTexas lived in harmony with nature. They had a unique view of life which they expressed in a concept of there being three worlds. The world of the spirit - the red world - above. The world of the mundane - the white world of everyday living. The black world of the land beneath. Like other Native peoples in the western hemsphere they had a calendar system which was prominent in their religious rites. These people were fishermen and farmers who lived very close to the earth.
FRIDAY EVENING:
We will discuss the spiritual beliefs of the Native peoples of southeast Texas.
Saturday morning we will visit a ceremonial area where these beliefs were practices. We will meet in Spring at the center and caravan to the Davis archeological site.

This site was in use from about the time of Christ to around the 11th century. The site was a place where major festivals of the relious calendar were held. People did not live at this place but visited it for religious festivals much the same as Europeans may have traveled into the various towns for a renaissance festival.
At the site there are three mounds. The largest of these is the temple of the sun. It was originally 45 ft high. On top of this mound was the primary temple which housed the sacred fire. From the top of this mound the shaman led the people in their religious rituals
The second mound was the place where the oracles were housed. The oracles were special people who lived apart and gave psychic consultations when needed. They did not interact with the rest of the tribe but lived in isolation so that their psychic messages would not be tainted by personal knowledge. These people had multiple means of divining the future.
The mound at the far end of the plaza is the burial mound of the dead (35 ft hight). This is where the dead were buried and where spirits awaited Decoration Day when the gate to the upper world of the spirit was opened so the spirits could move on to the next realm.
The plaza area between the mounds was where the people gathered to observe the rituals. The plaza area is perhaps as big as a football field and would have held several hundred people. People came from many miles to attend these festivals so the plaza would have been crowded at time of festival. If you bring a blanket we can sit on top of the mounds and see what psychic reactions we may experience.
Those who are not able to climb a high mound may do their meditations down by the creek that surrounds the plaza. There are benches by the creek. We will, if people are interested, take a few minutes to psychically experience all three mounds. A cloth which is easily carried and allows one to sit on the earth is good to have.

Saturday March 6 - Meet at the center at 9:00 a.m. and plan to caravan to the site.
We will probably be back around 5:00 p.m. depending upon how much time people wish to spend. We will stop for lunch so lunch money is good to have. Rain date for the trip to the mounds is the following Saturday. To walk around the plaza is about like walking around a football field. There is a gravel path. A wheelchair could go around the path but would not be able to get on top of any of the mounds. There is a wooden platform sticking out into the creek which provides shade and rest about half way around the trail. Dress comfortably and wear shoes you can walk on a gravel path in.

Class 1 will be on Meditation, this is where it all begins, (they meaning the universe, god, angels) we can listen to them thru meditations. Meditation is not only a way to awaken your spirituality and conscious awareness, but also improve the quality of life on the planet. We can set goals, ask and receive during meditations. We can help our bodies daily by doing a meditation, even if its only 10 minutes of quieting the mind.
Besides doing the meditations and talking about them we will all practice writing one, or at least start on one which will be a lot of fun. Every one can do it together or do it alone customize to your special needs.
If you do not have a journal yet we do have them in the store for sale along with meditation cd's. But if you do please bring your journal with you.

In this course we will discover the ancient taoists' magic square and its use in divination via the five element theory and its application in tarot. The magic square is magic as it makes the thing it comes from and when all the number patterns are inserted and added, they all equal fifteen. The square is used as a "spread", as an overlay of things, past, present, future and a compass, the months and seasons, the body chart. With the body chart we can see an organ in discomfort and the emotions related to said organs of discomfort.

In this class participants will be introduced to a part of Pacific Culture that not many have been privileged to participate in. To taste Kavakava is to experience the greatness of al the Pacific cultures as this herb is a testament to pacific peoples travel and shared knowledge and cultures. The use of kavakava is widespread throughout all regions of the vast and blue Pacific ocean.
Kava is used for: Kava is used for medicinal, religious, political, cultural and social purposes throughout the Pacific. Kava is used primarily at social gatherings to increase amiability and to relax after work. It has great religious significance, being used to obtain inspiration. It is also used medicinally for the following: anxiety, insomnia, stress, has a sedating and is primarily consumed to relax without disrupting mental clarity, it produces mild euphoria and relaxation in the user. Because kava can cause sedation, and in high amounts, intoxication, kava drinks are consumed in some parts of the world in much the same way as alcohol.
Kava will be prepared in the modern way via a blender and cold water. Tasting and review will be group participation.

What is Energy?
Energy medicine is a term used for holistic healing therapies that are focused on manipulating "Life Force" to bring about balance and wellness. This is the study of the 22 Cards of the Major Arcana
Understanding and inter-acting with the Tarot Cards offer a greater clarity to how we accept and react to different situations we encounter on a day to day basis.
Many key words are associated with each of the cards. We will explore those key words together and learn how to easily remember what the card stands for.
We will study the Fool's Journey with more depth and discussion so that when you are reading the Major Arcana, you can relate this journey to the actual reading.
Your class workbook is included in your tuition. If you need to purchase your deck of Rider Waite Tarot Cards, SpiritQuestCenter is offering our students a 10% discount on the cards the night of the class.
Please bring your deck to class. It would be helpful if you have the Major Arcana Cards in order. Start with "0" for the Fool and End with "21" The World.
This course will be followed up with an in-depth study of the Minor Arcana for those students wishing to learn how to read intuitively for others.

Prepare for the Challenge with Ghosthunting 101!
Our tour begins at The Spirit Quest Center with a ghosting hunting 101 briefing that includes big screen pictures from actual ghost hunting investigations conducted in personal homes, cemeteries and businesses around the US. We'll show you how to use the most common ghost hunting equipment like dowsing rods, EMF meters, cameras and recorders to capture spirit activity.
Tour Haunted Sites with Paranormal Investigators & A Psychic Medium
After the briefing, the walking ghost tour begins. At each stop, you'll hear the mysterious and spine-tingling stories of the ghosts who haunt Old Town Spring. Our psychic medium, Kourtney Franks, will lift the veil between this world and the hereafter, finding out which spirits would like to communicate with us and possibly bring us messages from the other side!
Be sure to bring your camera and bug spray! You'll want to wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes. If you don't have a camera, no worries! We'll have inexpensive disposable cameras along with other fun ghost hunting equipment such as dowsing rods and EMF meters available for purchase in our store. At each stop you'll have the opportunity to take pictures and use your ghost hunting equipment.

The foundation that we have built with the Major Arcana Class will lead us smoothly into our next lessons. Due to the request of our students, we will study the Minor Arcana class in two separate sessions.
